First Aid

When an emergency situation (one that endangers the dog’s life) arises, the dog’s owner becomes the first responder—the person who provides immediate assistance. The owner’s response plays a determining role in the success of the situation and in the dog’s chances of survival before veterinary assistance can be obtained. So you need to be prepared! We’ll discuss how to recognize the signs of pain and discomfort, how to identify problems and emergencies and how to prepare a first-aid kit.

Kids and K9s

Did you know that:

  • Each year there are 460,000 dog bite victims in Canada
  • In the majority of cases, the dog is known to the victim
  • Generally, the victims are kids
  • 1 child in 2 is bitten before the age of 12
  • The face is the most affected body part

Consequently, this workshop is very important for future parents or families with children and dogs. Learn how to prevent problems by gaining an understanding of the dog and by supervising interactions between your kids and your four-legged family members.

Agility "Fix it"

The goals of these " FIX IT " workshops are to give your agility team a chance to work on certain specific skills that you would like to improve. Our regular agility classes often do not allow us to spend a lot of time on a certain subject or particular skills, as such this is the reason these workshops are offered between sessions. These will give you the opportunity, the time and the expertise of an instructor so that you can practice or improve certain skills. You may use these experiences to help your team improve for your classes, to give you the necessary tools to move to the next level of classes, to improve your performance in competition or simply to work on more challenging skills. These workshops are open to teams of all levels; they are planned with the participants' expectations and goals in mind.

Demonstrations

CHIENS SHOW is GUIDES CANINS 's demonstration team. We're active in a number of environments where dogs are considered important. Our goal is to share the joy of training and to demonstrate the importance of basic training in ensuring a harmonious dog/owner relationship in the hope that our motivation and desire to spend time with our dogs will be contagious! We are very flexible in terms of the organization, structure and presentation of our demonstrations, which are geared to the target audience, the environment and surface provided as well as the type of event. We are available for occasional or regular demonstrations of specific canine sports or friendly competitions.

Our availability and presentation costs are subject to negotiation. Production fees are determined based on vehicle and equipment rental, organization time, number of participants, etc. Contact us!
