Heidi is my Heidi of the mountains. She’s my darling. My very own first dog, it took one year to choose the Australian Shepperd as a breed. I did not choose Heidi, she fell head over heals for me!

She loves anything edible…to the point that in agility she wants the treat so badly that she drools puddles. I am very proud to have accomplished her expert standard title in three runs, one week! She’s not my fastest dog but Heidi guesses what I am thinking before I give the command in the field.

She loves flyball, the only problem being her Mommy hates it, hence no flyball for missy!

Head dog in skijoring, she brilliantly heads my team of four. As close as she is to her sisters and brother who share the same house it’s her twin Morgane that she prefers. Of my four dogs three share the same father, Heidi, Morgane and Elliott. Heidi and Morgane are from the same litter.

She sings her joy to me from the moment she awakes, to the time I return home from school or simply from a quick trip to the store.

Happy to come to school with me, although she has her limits I can easily read her by her look or the position of her ears that she has had it with dirty little fingers pawing at her fur. My students find it hilarious that she can open their desks with her nose in search of sweet treats.

For Heidi, it is difficult, see impossible to convince her to see the difference between sheep and guests in the family room. For her it is imperative for the guests to be herded…for fun I leave her do her thing and before my guests realize what is going on the have been herded in the corner Heidi sitting in front of them proud of her work. I find it very funny!

Heidi is my darling; she’s the love of my life.
