Loved by Emmanelle Lemenu

Münster has left us, but he fought bravely to the end.

To those who knew him, it was clear just how much Emmanuelle loved this dog. Her feelings for him were all the more intense since Emmanuelle and Christian lived with the knowledge that they would lose him sooner rather than later. The “big-hearted” dog was diagnosed with an enlarged heart four and a half years ago, yet Münster still gave his family plenty of joyous times. He was always a happy dog and at home he kept close to Emmanuelle.

Here’s what Emmanuelle had to say as she recalled the adventures and achievements of the dog who also responded to the names “Organe” and “Cardiaque,” as well as to the rallying cry of “Moumoune!” (used mainly if he became distracted):

- “He thawed the heart of Baguette, who was two years old when Münster came on the scene. Baguette would never allow anyone else to take my attention, yet Münster had such an effect on her that they would play every day, wrestling and chasing each other endlessly.

- He managed to make us say "Münster, get out of the kitchen” 10 times in a single day. - He made me laugh just about every morning walk (even those at 6 a.m. before my first sip of coffee!), by selecting the biggest stick possible and then struggling with it as he brought it for me to throw.

- He would not permit any quarrels in the house. If Christian and I raised our voices, he’d be there in a flash barking as he came between us.

- He began and nearly completed the entire Advanced level of agility (he was missing a standard leg) in a single season (five trials). And in doing so, he never once performed the weaves without jabbering at me… nor would he do them off-side!

- He never succeeded in catching a cat or a squirrel, but I assure you it wasn’t for lack of trying!

Tears stream down my cheeks as I read my own words. I miss him tremendously. I would like to thank everyone at Guides Canins for sharing the joys and sorrows he brought us over the years. Münster, I love you so much, my friend!

Emmanuelle”
