Quincy

Quincy, SADC, CCGC
Basset Hound
Born May 3, 1995, deceased August 17, 2001
Loved by Nicole Alfers & Mark Landry.

Quincy was one of the founding dogs of CHIENS SHOW. Adored by all his two- and four-footed team members, he displayed incredible patience and tolerance to any new dog joining the group. With a strong sense of showmanship, he never missed a chance to play the clown to impress or amuse the audience. He was struck by a violent illness in the summer of 2001, but he will always be alive in his owners’ broken hearts and in the hearts of all his friends and acquaintances.

Quincy loved cool-weather agility, any kind of treats, sleeping under the duvet or in the sun, any and all kinds of food, running in the fresh snow, cleaning the kitchen counter and floor, snuggling with anyone warm, opening and emptying the fridge, long spring and fall walks in the forest, and training especially for food. He tolerated obedience, baths, nail trimming, sleeping on the floor and his little (big) brother “Jarod” (see Jarod’s bio). Quincy bounced from owner to owner, but he found his permanent home when Nic & Mark adopted him in May 1997. He even served as the ring bearer at their wedding, which none of his previous owners would have thought possible, and he proved to be the perfect gentleman (except for the drool—sorry Dave!). Quince was a very special dog and a pleasure to work. He earned three qualifying legs in just three runs at one trial (thus the name, Q-dog). Quincy was an energy efficient dog (never lazy!), and he stole his family’s hearts from the start.

Quincy is sorely missed and we can only hope that everyone has the opportunity to live with such a special dog, if only for a short time. We love you, Quincy, and not a day goes by that we don’t think of you and your crazy habits. What we would not do to come home and find the fridge empty again.
