Agility dog, Frisbee dog, flyball dog, sled dog… but above all, faithful family pet. The first dog to join the Gilbert-Piché household, Tara watched the girls go from young children to young women and welcomed their brother home after his birth. The Sandbrook line’s foundation bitch, mother and grandmother to many well-loved puppies, including Maya, with whom she shared a home… Faithful lead sled dog, respected leader of the pack and undisputed best babysitter and guard dog… Tara will live on in the hearts of those who knew this fantastic dog and who witnessed her great determination and courage. She was a fighter right to the end. Surgery for a bone trauma went well and she recovered to once again compete in agility, but cancer won the final battle.

With their many canine companions, it is inevitable that the Gilbert-Piché family will suffer other losses, but the loss of Tara will surely be the hardest to bear...
