In 1997, the company was officially registered, marking a significant milestone in its growth. In 2000, the acquisition of agricultural land laid the foundation for a dedicated center for dog education and sports. After securing the necessary permits, the first facility was built in 2004 and officially inaugurated in 2005. That same year, GUIDES CANINS became an incorporated company. In 2009, the facility doubled in size with the addition of an agility hall.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2017, Martin Hogue dedicated himself full time to the company and initiated the design of a new building to meet the needs of our growing clientele. Two years later, in 2019, Chelsea DuJardin became a shareholder, further strengthening the company\u2019s vision and leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n

This evolution culminated in 2022 with the construction of the Multisport Complex, an eco-friendly project reflecting our commitment to sustainability. Our state-of-the-art facilities were completed and officially inaugurated in September 2023, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for GUIDES CANINS.<\/span><\/p>\n

We give food, medication, and care according to provided instructions, with fresh water available at all times. Dogs receive ample exercise and opportunities to express their natural social and physical behaviors, including relieving themselves, playing, socializing, exploring, and running\u2014at least six times every 24 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ivie, my perfect dog, my great agility partner, my breeding foundation bitch left on the morning of May 24th. A devastating cancer stole took from me. So sudden, so sneaky, so violent. So young.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ivie was a perfect agility partner. Known for her fabulous, untrained running contacts, she loved working and barking while working! Her 3 maternity leaves and the pandemic took their toll on her Life Time Achievement Award but she was so close\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Ivie was also a perfect mother and grandmother. She gave birth to 23 exceptional puppies with extraordinary temperaments who brought joy to their families! 8 of her babies are Canadian conformation champions, tree agility champions, a BISS and American grand champion with the highest hunting title, 2 are service dogs, one works as a blood dog, several have Trick scent detection Titles, traction sports podiums but all are Velcro champions and experts in giving love! Ivie is also the grandmother of 34 puppies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ivie was a ray of sunshine. She loved everyone and all dogs. She loved playing, running and eating wood (oh and yes, poop!). Her favorite place was on a chair that she often had to share with the person occupying it! Without shying away, she pushed the person and encouraged them to give up their place or shared it with her! Always perched, she wanted to be sure not to miss anything!<\/span><\/p>\n

She gave me everything. She left so quickly… I am so grateful for everything she was, that she gave me, that she taught me, that she brought to my life, the people she put in my path.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also born in my hands at 6 a.m. on June 10, 2019, weighing 420g, 3rd female from Ivie’s last litter of 7 vigorous babies named under the theme of the flowers. Her baby name was Marguerite and she was wearing the yellow collar. It will have taken 8 weeks before I decided to keep a baby of this litter! The decision was very difficult because I had to break the heart of a family that had been expecting a puppy for a few months. But after a lot of thinking, I realized that I had to keep a baby of Ivie\u2019s the last litter! So, decision made, now the task began to choose THE girl to keep! Helped by many important people who are my breeding mentors, my heart fell for this little yellow wonder! My little chick!<\/span><\/p>\n

Lyla or Ly is all what qualifies a Vizsla! Active, Velcro, playful, intelligent, obedient and sensitive. She loves to work, learn, run, chase and be chased. Vie-Va arrived in this world by cesarean section, 13 days before the death of her grandmother Ivie… This sudden, sneaky and very painful departure happened the day she opened her eyes. The theme of her litter was the construction babies because they arrived the summer of the opening of the new Multisport Complex! She was Bric, the red one, the little ball of energy! She was chosen for her contagious joie de vivre, hence her registered name.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her called name was invented in honor of her grandmother Ivie and Kiva, my 2nd Vizsla. Her nickname Yo! suits her perfectly since she constantly gets into trouble, hence the constant need for us to intervene to organize her! She is fast and lively, always ready to put things in her mouth, tear up boxes but also learn new tricks, play sports and also make friends…<\/span><\/p>\n

She has big shoes to fill but she\u2019s off to a great start! She brings a lot of love and fun and carries a little, well, a lot! of Ivie within her!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Also born in my hands at 6 a.m. on June 10, 2019, weighing 420g, 3rd female from Ivie’s last litter of 7 vigorous babies named under the theme of the flowers. Her baby name was Marguerite and she was wearing the yellow collar. It will have taken 8 weeks before I decided to keep a baby of this litter! The decision was very difficult because I had to break the heart of a family that had been expecting a puppy for a few months. But after a lot of thinking, I realized that I had to keep a baby of Ivie\u2019s the last litter! So, decision made, now the task began to choose THE girl to keep! Vie-Va arrived in this world by cesarean section, 13 days before the death of her grandmother Ivie… This sudden, sneaky and very painful departure happened the day she opened her eyes. The theme of her litter was the construction babies because they arrived the summer of the opening of the new Multisport Complex! She was Bric, the red one, the little ball of energy! She was chosen for her contagious joie de vivre, hence her registered name.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her called name was invented in honor of her grandmother Ivie and Kiva, my 2nd Vizsla. Her nickname Yo! suits her perfectly since she constantly gets into trouble, hence the constant need for us to intervene to organize her! She is fast and lively, always ready to put things in her mouth, tear up boxes but also learn new tricks, play sports and also make friends…<\/span><\/p>\n

She has big shoes to fill but she\u2019s off to a great start! She brings a lot of love and fun and carries a little, well, a lot! of Ivie within her!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

From the day I saw this little beige pup amongst her black and white brothers and sisters I knew she would be the perfect fit for our family, and that she is! After falling in love with Canicross and all traction sports, I wanted a pup that was bred specifically for the sport, both her parents, Inno and Bonnie are Traction Sport Champions, and absolutely love the sport. She was known as the \u201clittle beige sheep\u201d of the family since she was the only beige one born and therefor became the easiest one to recognize. Her easy going behavior, gorgeous looks and sweet attitude are enough to make anyone fall in love with her.<\/p>\n

At 12 weeks old she weighed a whopping 28 pounds, scared of nothing, and ready to do anything Knox has developped into an excellent team mate and an exceptional dog! She loves to work, learn and of course RUN! She loves in her order of preference, Traction Sports, Tricks, Scent detection, Tracking, Rat Sports, Obedience, Frisbee and Agility. She is absolutely brilliant in canicross, bikejoring and skijoring; with multiple placements at every race she has competed in. She is the perfect match for our family, we absolutely adore her!<\/p>\n

Her love for scent detection has become more apparent and has truly created a special bond between myself and this wonderful dog. Her ‘is it worth it’ attitude is noteable in all sports except for scenting and traction sports. She hates to cuddle but needs to be close, loves to wander but needs to see us, she is our perfectly imperfect dog and we wouldn’t change a thing about her.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted a Dalmatian, but for one reason or another, life always made it impossible\u2014until now. We traveled 4,022.6 km<\/strong> from home to pick up this little piece of perfection, and we couldn\u2019t be happier to have her with us.<\/p>\n

My wild child, my rambunctious little beast, my beautiful tornado, Liv has completed our family.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She\u2019s smart as a whip, which is a great thing but also a challenge. She learns the good and the bad at an incredible speed. Her work ethic at just 11 weeks old<\/strong> was amazing, she truly is a momma\u2019s girl. She was my introduction to purebred dogs and the conformation world, which she conquered in no time, making me look like a real pro.<\/p>\n

She loves to work and jump; she will fly at you and jump onto your back, into your arms, onto your head\u2014nothing is too close for this spotted little rascal.<\/p>\n

At not even two years old<\/strong>, she earned her MACH title in scent detection<\/strong>, her Grand Champion title in conformation<\/strong>, her ADC, SGDC in agility<\/strong>, and her RN in rally obedience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Her potential is absolutely incredible, and it\u2019s such a joy to work with her but also to cuddle with her. Although she is an amazing performance dog, she is also the sweetest pet, best friend, and loyal shadow.<\/p>\n

At only three years old<\/strong>, we have accomplished so much and learned so much together. Our team is stronger than ever, and we have so much fun together. She excels at everything she does, but her favorite sports remain scent detection and rat sports<\/strong>. She loves running, doing sledding sports, agility (especially when I\u2019m not stressed!)<\/strong>, and she\u2019s always ready for anything. We can\u2019t wait for everything the future has in store for us!<\/p>\n

Onyx is an unexpected addition to our clan but absolutely perfect. Our family fell in love with her right away. She was definitely destined to be the 6th member of our family. She is funny, curious, likes to test the limits but likes to please her humans even more. She shows her affection by clinging to the leg of the human she greets or by licking their face. She also demonstrates her joy by whipping her body with her tail, like her mother Lyla. Onyx doesn’t have many quiet moments, she likes to keep busy! When she stops, she lies down on her human. Gaya is a real little terrier, with her piglet head and a temperament that is often\u2026 shall we say\u2026 excessive!!! She makes me work on myself every single day! She\u2019s an extremely expressive dog\u2014you can understand exactly what she wants just by looking into her big brown eyes or hearing a small bark.<\/p>\n

She loves forest walks\u2026 especially because it gives her the chance to run and nip at her sister Fidji\u2019s heels!!! Her favorite trick is \u201cHands up\u201d \u2014 she does it all by herself, anytime, just to get a treat\u2026 and it works. Unfortunately, she\u2019s just too adorable!<\/p>\n

Her favorite activity is definitely barn hunt. She loves using her nose to search for critters and she\u2019s really excellent at it! She also loves frisbee, and we often use it to help burn off some of her overflowing energy.<\/p>\n

Gaya was my first agility dog. In 2024, she earned her ATChC, becoming the 3rd Airedale in Canada to receive this title, and in December 2025 she became the first Airedale to earn her Expert Jumper Bronze (ExJB) title \u2014 I\u2019m incredibly proud! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

She also loves dock diving like a little fish!!!<\/p>\n

For fun, we also practice scent detection since she loves using her nose, and we\u2019ve started tracking as well.<\/p>\n

Despite her sometimes exuberant personality, I wouldn\u2019t trade my little troublemaker for anything in the world \u2014 she really knows how to make herself loved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Fidji was born at my home, so I\u2019ve been with her since she was very young. Even at just a few weeks old, she was already climbing out of the puppy pen and was the most mischievous of the litter\u2026 I knew right away that this adorable, lovable little black fluffball would stay with me! Today, she knows how to charm everyone she meets.<\/p>\n

Since she was a puppy, she has always needed to have something in her mouth, especially when she\u2019s happy and excited\u2026 preferably a stuffed toy that\u2019s way too big for her. Fidji loves running in the forest, but never on the trails. She prefers zigzagging through the woods on either side, searching for squirrels and trying to make her sister Gaya run as much as possible while Gaya chases after her.<\/p>\n

Fidji is a dog who learns incredibly quickly. She loves learning new tricks and always wants to please. Her favorite sport was definitely Frisbee. However, in April 2024, Fidji developed glaucoma in her left eye and completely lost vision in that eye. Despite this, she learned to catch her Frisbee again, even though it\u2019s much more difficult for her. We also went back to the basics in agility so she could build strong reference points, and we successfully earned our ATChC in August 2024. She is so resilient!<\/p>\n

Fidji had her left eye surgically removed (enucleation) in February 2025, but it doesn\u2019t stop her from doing anything. Just 10 days after her surgery, she earned her SDDA Champion title. She truly excels in Scent Detection and is such a pleasure to work with.<\/p>\n

We also practice other sports together, including Rat Sports, Obedience, and Dock Diving.<\/p>\n

I am incredibly lucky to have her and to be able to do everything I want with her.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lychee is my first \u201csmall\u201d dog, and I must admit I wasn\u2019t sure at first since I\u2019ve always had large dogs \u2014 but I absolutely adore her, and she is the perfect complement to my canine family.<\/p>\n

From a very young age, I noticed how versatile she is and how much she loves to learn. She\u2019s always up for all my crazy ideas, and I\u2019m so grateful for that. I can try anything with her. Together, we discovered the world of Conformation and Rally-O, which is also a brand-new sport for me since I had never done it with my other dogs.<\/p>\n

We also practice several other dog sports together: Rat Sports, Scent Detection, Agility, Dock Diving, and Earthdog. Later on, we might even try Frisbee just to see where it takes us \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

For now, I couldn\u2019t be prouder of my baby cat! After earning her Border Terrier Canada Versatility Title at only 13 months old in June 2025, Lychee went on to earn her Junior Heartdog (JE) title at 17 months old in October 2025, which allowed her to obtain the highest title awarded by the Border Terrier Canada Club: Versatility EXCELLENT. In addition, we earned our CKC Versatility Bronze title at the end of 2025.<\/p>\n

Lychee comes from Ravencreek Border Terrier, and we hope she will become a future breeding female, pending successful health testing in the future. She is my first dog registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, and she introduced me to the world of Conformation shows.<\/p>\n

Meg who I affectionately call my crazy american girl is my GO GO GO dog! This girl is the definition of act first, think second! She is always full of joy, confidence and drive and would die for a treat any day! There is not a single day where she can’t make me smile: she’s a clown and an extremely affectionate dog. While she is more expressive than Dio, she will definately judge every single human being in front of her (including me!) so be ready if you ever meet her up! Dio is the dog I was dreaming for since my childhood. As a little girl that wanted to be a vet (I know… so original!) I thought studying every single breeds, history and temperament would give me a jump start. I felt instantly in love with the shiba. After researching the breed for years and getting ready for the best moment, I got Dio and never regretted it! The stubborness and sassy attitude was exactly what I expected, but he’s so fun and funny! People know him at work for his snobby attitude and stoic face, but give him time and he will warm up to you! He is a great teammate in sports (when he doesn’t give attitude) and currently the only Versatility Excellent Shiba Inu in Canada! I grew up with Tervuren\u2019s and have always been quite familiar with the breed, in 2012 Zeste came into my life quite unexpectedly, but I couldn\u2019t be happier with this unforeseen acquisition. Zeste is very small and only weighs 33 lbs which is why I like to call her my Pocket Terv! Zeste\u2019s agility career started out with a minor blip, at only 13 months old she fractured her left front paw, and we were forced to take a break and work on her rehabilitation; including her balance and overcoming her fears, which is something that we continue to work on each and every day. She has since realized how much fun agility is and can\u2019t get enough! She also loves herding and her confidence is in full-force when it comes to this sport! An absolute natural when it comes to Obedience, Skijoring and Canicross- finally a constructive chance to pull me!<\/p>\n

Zeste is a social butterfly and love people, when she isn\u2019t busy with training she absolutely loves to play with her little sister Litha\u00a0<\/span>, cuddle, go for walks in the forest (never without her orange boomerang in her mouth!), chase squirrels and even swim- which has proven to be quite the feat for her! You will never see Zeste sleeping without her kong or green ring, it is a must have for cuddling in the bed with us! She hates having a bath and getting her nails trimmed even though this happens every week, it is always a battle! If ever one of her many sporting careers don\u2019t work out, she could easily become a professional destroyer- not even the extreme black Kongs last with her!<\/p>\n

She has turned out to be the absolute perfect dog for me, she has taught me so much when it comes to training and patience and continues to teach me new things every single day!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Polo has a big heart and quickly becomes attached to anyone who gives him attention. His nose directs him to sniff everywhere, a great curious person who enjoys discovering everything that surrounds him. Since he was a puppy, his great passion has been the swimming pool! He swims very quickly and gives 100% in dock diving and hydro dash competitions! He loves walks in the forest, the snow, howling (typical Beagle), sniffing everything, sleeping as close to us as possible, doing tricks with me and now his little brother Finnick (just a little).Being my first dog, Sammy taught me a lot and made me grow in dog training; my patience (because it takes a lot with a Beagle), my perseverance, my precision and in better managing an anxious dog.This year we tried lots of new things; Scent detection competition, first agility competition, we tried parkour, rat detection and so on!! Woody has been my biggest dog training challenge I’ve had… I’ve had to let go of several sports. But he is also the one who gave me the most on a human level. I often say that dogs come into our lives for a reason. With Woody, I became a better person. This shows that our initial plan is not always the one that comes to fruition. But when you know how to be attentive, listen to your dog and work with your strengths, you can make some great discoveries. It was with him that I discovered scent detection and dock diving several years ago. Woody loves water and dock diving. In his performance years he has already managed to jump 28 feet, he is truly impressive! And what about his numerous participations in the National Championship. I am so very proud of him! A wonderful little Toller with great genetics. The \u201cKukunne\u201d, with intense focus, learns quickly in obedience. She is a superb training partner in agility, and canine sports where she excels very well . A retriever, she loves to run and \/ or swim to bring back her ball, her frisbee and especially her hunting lure. Despite her small size, she is quite excellent at skijoring. At her first experience of duck retrieving she was exceptionnaly impressive, she will be able to exploit her innate potential in this new activity.<\/p>\n

Adding a Toller to the family has always been part of our plans but when we heard of this litter happening, we knew it was time to make it a reality. Since becoming a member of our family Decoy has exceeded all of my expectations. As soon as you meet him, you will see that he is a happy, social, friendly boy, who always aims to please and who, contrary to popular belief, really does have an off switch. His \u201cjoie de vivre\u201d is palpable; he gives 100% in everything he does, whether it be Disc dog, skijoring, dock dogs or his favorite agility. I have yet to find something that he doesn\u2019t enjoy and I can\u2019t wait to see what the future has to bring for our little red dog!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Billie is the first dog of mine that I brought home, SURPRISE! He’s my first boy and he’s the one who taught me everything about the canine world. This dog is very sensitive which can make training a challenge, but\u00a0 is also part of his charm. Billie loves water, he’s a real fish! He discovered dock diving last summer and lives for this sport now. Be careful, I warn you, if you are at a dock diving competition at the same time as Billie, bring your ear plugs, because his husky side is heard all day long with her magnificent Gregorian chants. And what about his frisbee (which he never wants to let go of, of course), if you’re looking for Billie, find the frisbee and you’ll find the dog. Shadow is a fireball! He explodes with joy when there are guests at home, he truly believes that the guests are there for HIM. Shadow is the kind of dog who greets you with something in his mouth! If it’s not a doggie or a bone, he’ll be happy to go get a shoe in the hallway just to say hello. The famous wiggle butt of Australian shepherds is also part of its warm welcome! Shadow is the one who introduced me to dog sports and who made me passionate about them. Thanks to him, I made such wonderful encounters and learned such wonderful skills such as agility, that we love to practice together. Koda introduced me to the love of the Nordic breeds. It is a real comedy show to watch him every day! He keeps making me laugh with the famous husky zoomies and of course his famous singing- typical of his breed. This dog is impossible to get mad at,\u00a0 with his flirtatious side and his beautiful soft eyes, we can only give him kisses. He is a rare pearl of a husky, he has a lot of drive and loves to work; cheese and toys are his best friends! At the height of her eight months, Koda has already completed several courses in obedience, agility, tracking, rat sports and even introductory swimming courses for dock diving.
